With GE’s announcement last year that they are investing $20 million in nacelle manufacturing facilities in Pensacola to expand production capacity and bring new products to market, suppliers BlueWind Technology and Jupiter Bach are positioning themselves to deliver.

Jupiter Bach North America recently held a groundbreaking ceremony where company leadership announced they’re adding new jobs and investing in a new manufacturing facility in Pensacola.

Jupiter Bach has celebrated 20 years of wind turbine business with GE and are leaning in to GE’s investment in Pensacola.

The expansion will create 100 more jobs and a brand new 21,000 square-foot facility. The new building will be located in Ellyson Industrial Park off Scenic Highway and house Jupiter Bach’s manufacturing operation for nacelles and spinner covers for wind turbines. Plant Manager Sean Guidry said the company is investing nearly $6 million in the expansion.

“This investment will allow us to grow from 200 to 300 employees at this site,” said Guidry. “FloridaWest has been a huge help on our journey to this point and we’re so excited to look toward the future right here in Pensacola.”

Danita Andrews, Chief Business Development Officer for FloridaWest, said Pensacola’s wind energy future is bright.

“GE Vernova, Jupiter Bach, and Blue Wind Technology’s collaboration has made Pensacola a wind energy hub in the Southeast,” said Andrews. “Their work together is ensuring that Pensacola, Florida will be a major player in the forefront of clean energy production and advancements driving next generation technologies associated with wind energy and composites materials manufacturing for years to come.”

The manufacturing facility is planned to be completed by Jan. 1, 2025

BlueWind, manufacturer of nacelles, has been growing as well, adding 140 employees in the last 5 years. By June of 2024, they had produced 2,000 of the wind turbine housings for GE.

“With GE investing $20 million in Pensacola, we are literally becoming the home of onshore wind power in North America,” said Kelley. “In addition, we are pursuing other opportunities with partners from diverse industries whose companies can benefit from our high-tech components designed to handle heavy industrial applications.”
