Reemployment Assistance

Governor DeSantis reminded Floridians that if their employment has been negatively impacted because of mitigation efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19, these Floridians may be eligible to receive Reemployment Assistance.

    • Individuals who are eligible for Reemployment Assistance may include:
    • Those who are quarantined by a medical professional or a government agency,
    • Those who are laid off or sent home without pay for an extended period by their employer due to COVID-19 concerns; and
    • Those who are caring for an immediate family member who is diagnosed with COVID-19

Governor DeSantis and the Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) encourage any Floridian whose employment has been negatively impacted as a result of COVID-19 to visit Floridajobs.org and click on the Reemployment Assistance Service Center to learn more about the program and to watch a short video on how to apply.

Printable Form

CareerSource Escarosa, while remaining closed to the public, has drop boxes at both the Pensacola and Milton Career Centers where claimants can drop off their Reemployment Assistance applications if they don’t want to mail them directly to the address listed on the form. CareerSource Escarosa will collect and mail documents daily from those boxes.

The Department of Economic Opportunity has stated no documentation is needed other than this form (no copies of personal ID is needed.) Once claims are received by DEO, claimants will receive a call from a staff person at the state level to verify information as they put claims in the system.

CareerSource Escarosa staff remains available by phone Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. to provide as much assistance as possible for people who run into difficulty with the form. The CONNECT system continues to experience high volumes of calls, and local staff have very limited access to it but we are still working to help people reset their PIN.

Have you already applied?

Because of COVID-19 related layoffs, we know you are experiencing problems talking to someone about your Reemployment Assistance Claim.

The very best number to call is still: 1-800-204-2418

Please be consistent, keep calling them until a spot opens up in their telephone system and when connected to an operator, you will then be able to talk to someone about your claim.
