There will be a meeting of the Designated Member Selection Committee of the FloridaWest Economic Development Alliance Board of Directors on Monday December 7, 2020 at 10:00 AM at FloridaWest 3 West Garden Street Suite 618, 32502.

FloridaWest Economic Development Alliance Board of Directors Designated Director
FloridaWest Economic Development Alliance is seeking a volunteer for appointment as Designated Director to the FloridaWest EDA Board of Directors. This is a regular member of the Board of Directors and not a paid position.
The FloridaWest Economic Development Alliance was created in October 2014 when economic development was separated and moved out from under the present-day Greater Pensacola Chamber. FloridaWest EDA operates as a publicly/privately-funded organization, observing all local, state and federal laws that apply to nonprofit organizations as defined in section 501(c)(6) of the Internal Revenue Code and Florida’s Government-in-the Sunshine Law and Public Records Act in Chapters 286 and 119 of the Florida Statutes, along with section 288.075 of the Florida Statutes.
The mission of FloridaWest EDA is to promote industry and commerce, enhance the business climate and stimulate economic prosperity, support workforce development, promote community development and encourage political action. FloridaWest EDA strives to accomplish the greatest good for the greatest number of people in Pensacola, Escambia County and Northwest Florida.

In Accordance with the FloridaWest Bylaws, criteria for consideration for the Designated Director must include the then-current Directors and how they reflect the socio-demographic composition of Escambia County:

The current socio-demographic makeup of FloridaWest’s board is 92.69% White, 7.1% Non-White 21.42% Female and 71.42% Male. Special consideration will be given to those identifying as minority and women.
