You have an idea for a business. What’s the first step? Take the idea that has been forming in your head and see if you can turn it into an actual business. In this three-hour workshop, we will take an in-depth view of your business concept and discuss the steps to a successful start. Is there a need for your product or service? Can you make money at it? Are you the right person to bring this to market? Is this business compatible with your personal goals? What rules, laws and licensing apply to your business? We will discuss funding options for your business, basic marketing strategies, legal business structures, taxation, and the nuts-and-bolts of launching your new venture. We will also provide you with worksheets to take home and begin the process. After attending this workshop, you will have access to a Florida SBDC Business Consultant to assist you (at no cost) as you create your business plan and move toward your goals. This is a rare “no-charge” event; one of our partners, Community Bank, has agreed to pay for the first 100 registrations for our “Starting a Business” workshops in 2022, but space is limited so advance registration is required.

Speaker(s): Jenny Kunz, Business Consultant, Florida SBDC at UWF

Co-Sponsor(s): Community Bank; Greater Pensacola Chamber of Commerce

The first 100 registrations in 2022 for our Starting a Business workshops across the Panhandle will not be charged the regular $50 fee compliments of our partner, Community Bank. Please sign up only if you know you will be able to attend on this day. If you sign up for this but cannot attend for whatever reason without letting us know 48 hours in advance, we cannot guarantee the attendance to you again for free; you may need to pay the regular $50 attendance fee. This is a special promotion, and after the first 100 attendees for 2022, we will re-instate the $50 fee for this informative workshop.
